Hannah Hodge stakes a row of tomato plants in a one acre plot off of Wathen Lane in Henderson KY Wednesday afternoon.
The vegetable patch is a project for neighborhood kids looking to make some college money and is being assisted by the local UK Extension office.
The field features plasticulture, where the rows are covered in plastic and is drip irrigated, in addition to tomatoes they are growing squash, peppers, sweet corn and green beans which they hope to sell locally. (Gleaner photo by Mike Lawrence)
This is an awesome project, but I bet it's a BIG job!
